The Stroopwafel Story

It all started with a trip to Amsterdam and a serious sibling sweet tooth. As a Yorkshire brother-and-sister duo, we took one bite of a real, warm, freshly pressed Dutch stroopwafel and had a total lightbulb moment: why is nobody doing this back home?

Becoming the first to bring fresh Stroopwafel's in the UK

You’ve probably seen the cold, sad supermarket versions sitting on the shelves. But let’s be honest - those are mass-produced by giant companies, packed full of artificial nonsense, and have zero soul. They don't even come close to the real thing!

We decided the UK deserved better. We set out to bring the first authentic, melt-in-the-middle, hot-off-the-iron experience home, making every single wafel with actual care and proper, quality ingredients.

Designing the Dutch Dream

f we were going to serve a centuries-old Dutch delicacy, the setup had to feel just as special and traditional as the recipe itself.

We spent hours sketching out ideas before deciding to source and custom-build a traditional Edwardian pomade cart. We wanted the look to be nostalgic, theatrical, and effortlessly charming. With its rich wooden textures, vintage detailing, and classic silhouette, it’s an absolute showstopper that draws people in from across a room (or a festival field).

More than just a serving station, the cart perfectly captures the soul of Stroopwafel York. It’s warm, inviting, and a little bit rustic - bringing that cosy, old-world street bakery magic right to the modern day.

Our Sleek New Steed

As much as we absolutely adore our Edwardian cart, by the summer of 2026, we knew it was time to expand. We needed something that could cater to massive festival crowds, large-scale corporate events, and bustling weddings - and let’s be honest, we also needed something that could hold its own against the wildly unpredictable great British weather!

Our beautifully converted vintage horse box trailer was welcomed into the family. It is sleek, stylish, and entirely weatherproof, built to handle serious volume without losing an ounce of the rustic, authentic charm our business was built on.

Come rain or shine, this new beauty means we can roll up to just about any venue, courtyard, or muddy field, keeping those fresh, gooey wafels flowing and looking absolutely brilliant while doing it.

Traditional Tins to Take Home

But we didn't just want to make a quick snack you forget about five minutes later. We wanted to create a proper household staple. That’s why we package our bakes in our signature Stroopwafel gift tin. It’s a beautiful, high-quality keepsake designed to look brilliant on your kitchen shelf long after you’ve devoured the last crumb.

Today, what started as a sweet-toothed sibling obsession in Amsterdam has grown into a full-blown mobile bakery adventure.

Armed with their beautiful Edwardian cart and trusty horse box trailer, Matty and Leah now travel all over Yorkshire, bringing their gooey, melt-in-the-middle magic to everything from weddings and christenings to corporate parties and interactive workshops.

Whether they're parked up in a muddy festival field or tucked away inside a luxury venue, their mission remains exactly the same: serving up authentic, unforgettable moments, one fresh stroopwafel at a time.
